Zimmerman, Marlys Dorothy (Majerus)

Age 77 of Apple Valley, MN, passed away on March 28, 2019. She was born July 8, 1941 to Francis and Monica (Strauss) Majerus of Goodhue, MN. She graduated from Goodhue High School May 24, 1959 and worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. On October 6, 1962 she married Larry Zimmerman at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Rochester. They settled in Apple Valley in 1965, where she worked at Southview Elementary School for 35 years, retiring in 2007. She loved reading, flowers, traveling, hiking, handbells and being with family and friends. Marlys is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Larry Schroeder. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry; son, Larry of Minneapolis; daughter, Linda (Harry) Geist of Burnsville; 3 grandchildren, David, Anna and Greta Geist; brothers, Steve (Sandy) Majerus of Rochester and Joe (Bonnie) Majerus of Duluth; sister, Bonnie Schroeder of Bozeman, MT; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral at 11am on Mon., April 8, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 151 E. Co. Rd. 42, Burnsville, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Lebanon Cemetery.
