Margaret R. Shook,

age 89 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Oct. 20, 2014. Margaret and Wally met while they both worked at Blandin Paper Mill, were married in 1955 and resided in Grand Rapids. After leaving the paper mill she worked at the Itasca Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years, then semi-retiting and worked at various other nursing jobs in the area. Margaret and Wally were also members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; her parents, John and Ann Zollar; two brothers, Edward and John and a sister, Rose McGuire. Margaret is survived by her children, JoAnn (Al Roggow); Ed (Loida) and Mary Clare (Paul) Martin; six grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Mark, Morgan, Joe and AnneMarie; a sister, Sr. Zoe; a brother, Jack Zollar; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Margaret on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church, in the Chapel on the lower level, 3333 East Cliff Road, Burnsville, MN with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will take place on Monday, Oct. 27 at 11:05 AM, in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, MN.
