Lola Elaine (Odland) Rosenbaum passed away peacefully on April 22, 2014 at Trinity Care Center in Farmington, MN.

Lola was born on Feb 1, 1940 in Huntersville, MN to Ceil and Inez (Downer) Odland. She spent her childhood in Menahga, MN with her six brothers and sisters. In her teens her father moved the family to White Sulpher Springs, MT. In White Sulpher she met James Rosenbaum and they were married in Missoula, MT on Dec 7, 1957.

In the early years of their marriage they moved often and wherever they lived Lola made it their home. They welcomed three children into their lives in rapid succession; Sheryl, Mark, and Elaine. In 1964 they came back to Missoula where they lived for nearly 37 years. A fourth child, Theresa, arrived in 1973. Their home on South Avenue West was a busy, happy place filled with friends and family, as Lola was always a wonderful and gracious hostess. Lola was an active member of Atonement Lutheran Church, the Target Range PTA and Orchard Home Women’s Club for many years. She was a Cub Scout leader, a 4-H leader and a blue bird leader. While she would say that she never worked outside the home, through the years Lola managed and kept the books for a truck terminal, a mobile home court and numerous rental properties. She did daycare for friends when it was still called babysitting and loved those babies like her own.
Lola was a woman of great and quiet faith. She modeled prayer and taught trust in a good and gracious God.

Among Lola’s greatest treasures were her 19 grandchildren whom she lovingly sewed for, wrote to and for whom she always wrapped wonderful birthday and Christmas presents. She made sure current photos of all of them hung in each and every home that she and Jim lived in. Known to her grandchildren as “Mama Mou,” she always made sure the candy dish was full of pink nummies and the toy box was out.

Since the year of 2000 Lola and Jim have lived in Boise, ID, Winnemucca, NV, Hamilton, MT and currently reside in Bursnville, MN. They enjoyed time at the local Eagles Lodge, the Senior Center, in the garden and continued to especially treasure time with the grand-children and great grandchildren. Lola loved babies, hot coffee, clean houses and a good book. She loved to sew and she loved to dance.

Lola Rosenbaum is survived by her husband of 57 years Jim Rosenbaum of Burnsville, MN, 4 children: Sheryl Bousu (Bruce) of Burnsville, MN, Mark Rosenbaum (Stacy) of Casper, WY, Elaine Tripp (Rob) of Missoula Montana, Theresa Mavity (Mike) of Winnemucca, NV, 19 grandchildren: Trevor, Kathryn, Caleb, Trenton, Meredith, Julie, Megan, Jacob, Heidi, James, Lukas, Sadie, Molly, Libby, Lindy, Abbey, Macie, Makenna and Maxwell and 23 great grandchildren, her sister Berta Trimble of Menahga, MN and brother Cecil “Chuck” Odland of Polson, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Michael, Donald and Linden and 1 sister, Mila Kathleen.
