Horvat, Lenore Louise (Nelson),

age 83, of Apple Valley, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018.  She was born July 19, 1934 in East Liverpool, Ohio to David A. and Dorothy J. (nee Jones) Nelson.  Lennie graduated as a registered nurse in 1956 from Youngstown College, where she met her future husband, George Horvat.  Together, they raised 3 daughters in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, California, Illinois, and Minnesota.  Lennie’s career as an RN spanned many years in hospitals across the country, culminating at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN.  After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at the new St. Francis Regional Medical Center.  She enjoyed vacationing often in the Caribbean Islands with extended family and friends.  The joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.  Lennie is survived by daughters, Diane (Ken) Nyquist, Susan (Tony) Schiller, and Cyndi (Kevin) Lorang; grandchildren, David, Amber, and Kenny; brother, Bob Nelson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and grand-dog, Monroe.  Visitation is scheduled for 4-7 PM Monday, June 11 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley and 1 hour prior to service at church.  Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, June 12, 11am, at the Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 E. Co.
