Julia Rohaly Ellingson was born on April 2, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was one of 10 children born to Helen & Andrew Rohaly. Julia was well known to many as the owner and operator of Julie??(TM)s Beauty Shop on Saline Street in Pittsburgh. Others knew her as a secretary for Westinghouse where she worked until she retired. It was there that she met her first husband Jim Merryman. The two were married for 20 years and lived in Irwin, PA. Following the death of her husband Julia renewed her friendship with Chester Ellingson, her former boss at Westinghouse. Chet, whose wife had also passed away, lived in Minnesota. The long-distance relationship blossomed, and Chet traveled to Pittsburgh to propose. Not only did Julia agree to marry him, she packed up her belongings and moved with him to Bloomington, MN. They were married on Sept. 9, 1995. They lived for 10 years at Friendship Village. Preceding her in death were her husbands Chester Ellingson and Jim Merryman; siblings, Michael, Mary and John Rohaly. She is survived by siblings Helen, Andrew, George, Nick and Olga Rohaly and Pauline Tamsula. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues. June 7, 2005 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN with a visitation 1 /2 hour prior to services.
