Joy E. Agrimson
Age 92 of Lauderdale, MN, born June 26, 1921 in Waubun, MN to Gunder and Clara Christofferson, passed away June 4, 2014. Joy lived life with energy, spunk and a sharp mind. Joy was born on a farm one mile south of Waubun, Minnesota, June 26, 1921. After graduating high school, she became a radio inspector for planes during World War II. She then worked at General Motors, sending money home to her parents and saving to buy her own home in Lauderdale, Minnesota. Her home became the place for her siblings to come and live (sometimes with their families) while they studied in the Twin Cities. Joy married Robert Agrimson on July 23, 1961. Joy and Robert loved to travel, often camping up north or out west. They also journeyed to Israel, Egypt, Sweden and their beloved Norway twice. Joy loved to laugh, visit, and play cards. She was an avid gardener, berry picker, and State Fair visitor. Joy was a long-time member of University Lutheran Church of Hope, where for many years she co-chaired the annual rummage sale and put together the church cookbook. She was active in Gloria Circle and the Quilters group. She is preceded in death by her siblings: Glen, Dick, Florence and Verna. Joy will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert; daughter, Ann Agrimson (Tim Gustafson); grandchildren, Clair and Peter Gustafson; sister, Verona Gordon; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special thanks to the many wonderful caregivers at Synergy Home Care, Regions Hospital, Lyngblomsten Care Center and to the community of University Lutheran Church of Hope. Visitation, 2-4pm, Sunday, June 8, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So., Mpls. and also one hour before the funeral service at church. Funeral service, 11:00am, Monday, June 9, 2014 at University Lutheran Church of Hope, 601 13th Ave. S.E., Mpls. Joy will be laid to rest privately at a later date in Arendahl Cemetery, Peterson, MN. Memorials May be made to the church.
