Yaeger, John William
Age 80, of Minneapolis, died peacefully and surrounded by his family on Monday, March 21, 2016 after a stroke. He was born November 20, 1935 in Madison, Wisconsin, and was preceded in death by his parents, Doris & Otto; sisters, Sr. Miriam Yaeger, OP & Dorothy Curran. He is survived by Loie, his wife of 56 years; their four children, John (Robin) Yaeger, AnnMarie (Dugg Hannon), Beth (Mike Hargett) and MaryLoretto (Jamie McDonell); their ten grandchildren, Saja & Cade Yaeger, Ben & Jackson Hannon, Sarah, Alex & Nicholas Hargett, & Luke, Aidan & HaNeul McDonell.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a BBA in 1957, John served for two years as an officer in the US Navy. Following a 30 year business career he earned an MSW from Loyola University Chicago and began a second career as a clinical social worker. John continued to support senior citizens as a volunteer throughout his retirement.
John’s funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 24th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2424 18th Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation for friends and family one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Centro Guadalupano at Holy Rosary Church, 2424 18th Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55404.
