John Carlton Knoepfler, 57 of Eagan, passed away Sunday surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born January 22, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska to Robert and Sallie (nee Silknitter) Knoepfler. John is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Mary, sons Justin (Marta Halina) and Chris, brother Andy (Melissa) Knoepfler, sister Sarah (Karl) DeLong, stepfather Richard Lund, stepsister Laurel Lund, and mother-in-law Laura Vie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom. John graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1981, was a member of Phi-Beta-Kappa and Phi-Kappa-Phi. He loved writing, photography, and exploring the outdoors with his beloved wife, Mary. John served his country in the United States Navy in the JAG Corps. He will be forever treasured and missed. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, August 13 at Saints Martha and Mary Episcopal Church, 4180 Lexington Avenue South, Eagan. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday, August 12 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, (952) 432-2331.
