Jerry & I met in the 1st grade and after a playground fight, we became good friends. I've always respected & valued Jerry because he worked hard to improve and do his best in both athletics and academics. These traits resulted in success for Jerry throughout his life. These habits were also a positive influence on many of us long term classmates. We will miss you Jerry. Roger Martig;

Wendy, Eric, Jennifer and Erin, Seth and I were so sorry to learn of Jerry's death. He was a great man, and a dear friend of my parents as you remain, Wendy. I (Shelley) considered him like my uncle in our Delta Family of connections across this country. I wish very much I could join you all tomorrow as you remember and celebrate his life. I am grateful my parents will be. Please know that I will pray for you tonight, tomorrow in the coming days, and I've invited my church, Bethel Lutheran, to do the same. May Christ's peace which surpasses all our human understanding give you comfort now and in the days ahead. God is with you, and I hope and pray you will feel his abiding presence in the many who surround you this day and those to come. With peace and our Love, Shelley, Seth and Noah Bridger;

Wendy and family: George and I are so sorry to learn of Jerome's death. You are in our prayers. I never learned to call him Burt as his high school classmate. He was always Jerome to me, and such a gentleman. He was the best story teller and I so enjoyed when he would come to school and included me in his telling of the 'fun' and various pranks he would do with classmates and his friends. He had this great chuckle and biggest smile, checking to see if I would be too surprised, as he would tell of his adventures. At the All-Class reunion in June, he once again included me in one of his stories, of 'good times' he had as told to LuVerne Finne. Now looking back, George and I are so glad we sat with you and Jerome for dinner at reunion. I have a special memory of meeting Jerome and your family on the elevator at Daytons when we went were at one of the auditorium shows. I so appreciated hearing him say we should get together more often than reunions since we lived here in the cities. What a nice man and friend. God bless you as you celebrate his life.;
