James G. Bryntesen

Bryntesen, James G. age 83 of Apple Valley, born January 19, 1941 in Minneapolis to George & Ardelle Bryntesen, passed away at the family’s lake home, his favorite place on earth, surrounded by people he loved, on August 2, 2024. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Bryntesen. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Sandy; children: Bonnie (Scott) Roe, Pamela (Mark) Schadegg and Chris (Jodi) Bryntesen; five grandchildren: Julia, Brenna, Jack, Evan and Clara; sister, Joyce Krake and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

After graduating from Edina High School, Jim served 4 years in the United States Army, including three years in Germany. He loved to tell the stories and he loved his country. Jim founded 2 successful family businesses and worked up until he died, always striving to keep his customers happy and deliver an exceptional product. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is remembered fondly for his strong work ethic, incredible stamina, and his reputation as quite a prankster…always with a twinkle in his eye. A visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Friday, August 9, 2024 at Henry W Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave. in Apple Valley and also one hour before the service at church. Funeral service, 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 4300 Nicols Rd. in Eagan. Jim will be laid to rest at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
