Harriet Loretta (Heldt)Hanson, age 89, of Minneapolis, passed away Tuesday, March 20 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on a farm near Holloway, Mn. on October 29, 1922 to Albert and Magdalena (Konieczny) Heldt. She graduated from Appleton, Mn. High School in 1941. On November 18, 1952, she married Wendell Oliver Hanson in Appleton and moved to Minneapolis, where they began raising a family. Harriet will be remembered for being a loving wife, her passion in life was raising her 6 sons, she was like a gourmet cook and an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing especially for her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, flower gardening and designing new crafts ideas that she sold to McCall’s magazine for many years. She is survived by sons Charles (Doreen), Clark, Scott (Lynne), Lee (Deanna), Paul, and John Hanson, grandchildren Chad, Darren, Paige, Ryan, Dustin, Samantha, Kyle, Shane, Tate, Rachael, Danny, Irene, Jenna and Corey, sister Alice Catherine Heldt (Lembke), brother Albert Carl Heldt III, brother and sister-in-law Arthur & Irene Hanson, Roger Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, parents and sisters, Marjorie Ann Heldt (Stock), Caroline Jeanette Heldt (Perkins), Magdalena Jane Heldt (Arne) and Alberta Mae Heldt. The Family would like to thank the staff of the Augustana Health Care Center of Apple Valley and her volunteers Anne, Kaye, Mary and Carol for their companionship and loving care they provided Harriet. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 County Rd. 42, Burnsville. Visitation will be 1 hour prior at the church. Interment will follow a luncheon after Mass at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
