Gunnar B. Söderlind
Age 66 of Cottage Grove, MN, born July 29, 1958 in Brainerd, MN to Barbara Humphrey & Philip Söderlind, passed away peacefully December 6, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his father, Philip Söderlind and stepdad, Jim Barker.
Gunnar will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 6 years, Doris; mother: Barbara Humphrey; children: Joseph (Elissa) Barker, Natali (Jesse) Evans, Amarie (Matthew) Söderlind-Fisher, Kyle (Brooke) Barker, Lindsay Kinney and Grant Barker; five grandchildren: Judah, Elowen, Vincent, Violet and Vera; siblings: SaDee Söderlind, Jack Barker, Charlie (Lisa) Barker, Jennifer (Ed) Söderlind Ouimette and Philip Söderlind and many other family and friends.
Gunnar grew up in Eagan, Minnesota and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1976. He joined the swim and golf teams, two activities that he enjoyed throughout his life and passions that he passed on to his children. A gifted computer programmer, Gunnar had a knack for technology and problem-solving. He also had a love for photography and videography. He owned his own studio in Lake Bluff, IL, where he documented many family portraits, weddings, and community events. He was able to spend time in San Pedro Sula, Honduras where he met his wife Doris and enjoyed getting to know her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 with a visitation one hour before at Henry W Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave. in Apple Valley. Gunnar will be laid to rest at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
