Gerald “Gary” Christian

Age 84 of Elko New Market, born September 19, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN to Clarence and Dagmar (nee Hanson) Christian. passed away November 26, 2021, after suffering a severe hemorrhagic (brain bleed) stroke on November 15.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Patty Kargel. He will be dearly missed by his children: Jeff, Jim (Julie), Joe (Shauna), Jill (Brad) Bell; grandchildren: Shawna, Jeremiah (Phylicia), Tyler, Hannah (Luke) Dandurand, Corey, Caylee, Connor, Josh (Missy), Jamie and Bryn and brothers: Bill (Carol), Skip (Tammy).

Gary grew up in Richfield and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955.  He spent one year in seminary school before serving as a Marine from 1956-1958. He attained the rank of Corporal.  Gary became a carpenter after his military days.  This career fueled his hobbies of woodworking, antique buggy and sleigh restoration as well as black smithing.

In addition, Gary was an avid gardener, gifted country dancer, impressive roller skater, and had a love for horses, trail riding, fishing and hunting.

Memorial Service 6:00pm, Friday, December 10, 2021 with a visitation from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, MN 55124.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Market Sportsman Club At: Jamie Walsh 5750 230th East Elko, MN 55020.
