Floyd R. Jones
age 77 of Minneapolis, born September 29, 1934 in East Chicago, IN to Floyd and Bertha Jones, passed away June 16, 2012. Floyd served in the US Air Force during the Korean War in the 310th Fighter Bomber Squadron Fifth Air Force, May 1953 ? April 1954. He was a life member and Commander of the Fred Babcock VFW, Post#5555, a member of the American Legion, Military Order of the Cooties, and life member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Korean War Veterans. He was truly a veteran who served other veterans. Floyd retired as a supervisor with the Hennepin County Adult Corrections Facility. He is preceded in death by brother, Douglas Meyer, and uncle and aunt Fred & Elizabeth Wolf. Floyd will be dearly missed by his wife, Ora; children: David (special friend, Lisa Macal), Michael and Pamela; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, LeRoy Meyer (Sonia); sister, Bonnie (Max) Hovey and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation, 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 20 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So., Mpls. and also one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Funeral service, 10:00am, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3430 E. 51st Street, Mpls. Interment, Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
