Johnson, Elnora,

Age 100, of Mpls., born Sept. 13, 1918 in ND and passed away May11, 2019 from complications after a heart attack following hip surgery.  She lived in Erdahl, MN for most of her young life but moved to Mpls. at age 17 and graduated from MN School of Business.  After marrying Elmer in 1938 they worked at the Arsenal during WWII.  In 1940 their 1st child Richard was born.  In 1948 their daughter, Sharolyn was adopted at 6 weeks of age.  Elnora & Elmer were active in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and more recently, she was a member of Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church.  Elnora visited Sharolyn and her family in Alaska 13 times.  She traveled with Richard to Norway and France.  She liked to read and do word puzzles, but her primary interest was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The most interesting and challenging job was in the Property room of the Mpls. Police Dept. where she was presented an award for helping solve a murder.  Elnora was one of the first residents of Nokomis Square in 1985, serving on many committees, including assembling its monthly publication.  She is preceded in death by husband, Elmer; and brother, Vernon.  Survived by son, Richard (Bonnie); daughter, Sharolyn (Glenn); grandchildren: Jennifer Ostlund (Chad), Erik Cole-Johnson (Lauren), Randall Johnson (Teresa), Jeremy Hermann (Manilyn), Titus Hermann (Desirae) and Abigail Bost (Jimmy); and 14 great-grandchildren.  Service 11 AM, Friday, May 17, 2019 with a visitation one hour before at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So., Mpls.  Interment Lakewood Cemetery.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Methodist Hospital for their excellent care and compassion for Elnora.
