Denise...All of her thoughtful deeds...writing newsy letters that were actually longer than one paragraph...creating a family recipe book that we and our kids still consult for old favorites and new eating adventures...choosing mugs for each aunt and uncle for Christmas, then explaining why we each received the one we did (I still have my butterfly mug!)...sending the boxes from California each year to Mom and Dad with fresh fruit, or bird-focused gifts because of their love for birds...sending boxes and boxes of gear and clothes to my granddaughters especially from her and Malena... That band of cousins playing in the family room, gathered around the Christmas tree for the annual Vikingson family picture at 8709, then sleeping all over the house, waiting for Santa to fill those stockings...is one member smaller now and so painfully missed by all. We mourn with all of you. Love to All, Auntie Linda;

I remember Rabbit Lake; Denise making sure the younger kids didn't get too upset during ghost story time in a dark cabin. I remember Virgil and Thelma's house in later years; Denise volunteering to help them out when they were no longer able to do many of life's daily chores, and Denise sending them many thoughtful gifts over the years. And I remember Denise as a child at family gatherings. Denise was a one of those rare kids who actually seemed to enjoy chatting with adults,making the adult feel appreciated. . . . There is an unexpected whole in the heart of the family, and those are the hardest kind of whole to fill. May each of us find the love and strength in each other and our personal faith to help us in our time of need. Love to you all, Unka Pete;

Denise was always so kind and thoughtful. During my years in the Army she regularly put a smile on my face with letters updating me on family happenings. And, yes, the family cookbook... I still marvel at what it must've taken to put that together- and with so much care. She loved people and it showed, and she was just a delightful person to be around. Our family will always be blessed by memories of sweet Denise. God bless her.;

I remember the first time Denise stopped in to visit with me at Little Caesars Pizza in Apple Valley. I vividly remember her rolling up in her new Mustang with a big smile and bright eyes. Business was slow, so I took the time to make her my own special order of bread sticks. That afternoon was the first of many great catch-up conversations with Denise. I miss you Denise and will always remember our afternoon chats. My heart is with you all in Minnesota and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you all, Peter Andrew;

Vikingson Family- I just wanted to let you all know how deeply sorry I am to hear of the loss of one of the Vikingson family. Now having a daughter of my own I have come to realize how precious a son or daughters life is to a parent as well as to relatives and friends who develop a relationship with that child. I can only imagine how difficult this time must be for you all, and feel truly sorry that I was unable to be there to join in the commemoration of Deniseâ?(TM)s life as well as offer support to her family during such a difficult time. On behalf of myself and my daughter Luca, I offer our condolences. Love, Luke and Luca
