Rowan, Deborah Lynn
Age 65, of Apple Valley, passed away on September 19, 2020, after complications following a lengthy illness, including pancreatic surgery. Deborah was born and raised in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, and graduated from Tartan High School in 1972. She was the oldest of five siblings and was very influential in their lives. She married at age 18 and spent 47 years married to the love of her life, Tom. Her greatest joys in life were raising her two sons and spending time spoiling her grandchildren. She worked for many years in the legal profession, but always made her children and family her first priority. She was known for her homemade red sauce, from her Italian family recipe. She always made sure you left her home with a full stomach and a bag of leftovers. She enjoyed hand-quilting, giving gifts of quilts to both of her sons and grandchildren, reading classic literature, watching sports with her family, and old movies. Preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mary Bartone; father, Richard Youngdahl; sister, Dorene German. Survived by her husband, Tom; children: Jason (Mary) Rowan and Joseph (Melanie) Rowan; grandchildren, Tommy, Danny, Sophie, Erin, Billy, Eddie, Luci and Ella; as well as her mother, stepfather, siblings, nieces and nephews, and also by other loving family and friends. A limited private service will be held at a time to be determined, as well as a future celebration of life for all when appropriate. In lieu of flowers, please provide a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
