David Otto Wendt

age 75 of Rosemount, born March 11, 1946, in Springfield, MN to Wilbert & Opal Wendt, passed away January 18, 2022.  He graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1964 and went on to serve in the US Army National Guard for six years.  David was a barber at First Hair Design in the First National Bank Building in Saint Paul for 55 years. He truly enjoyed his time at work where he could socialize with his many customers/friends.  He enjoyed all that life had to offer, including golfing, boating, riding horses and motorcycles, spending time with his friends, and especially being with his family.

David was a loving father and grandpa and will be deeply missed by his children, Jeremy (Jessica) Wendt and Jennifer (Aaron) Mackie; four grandchildren: Elise and David Wendt, and Olivia and Jacob Mackie; sister, Carol (Allan) Hoffmann; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Don, Bob, Jim, Kenny, and Curtis Wendt; and sister, Jean Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February, 25, 2022 with a visitation one hour before at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14980 Diamond Path, Rosemount.

David was often known to quietly help those in need; the family asks that to honor his generous and caring spirit, memorial donations be made to the Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (www.ugmtc.org).
