HOLTZE, CLARENCE E. “BUD”
Bud Holtze, age 82 of Rosemount, MN, died May 9, 2014 after 17 years with Parkinson’s.

He graduated from Tomah High School in 1950 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1955 with a BA in Accounting. He practiced as a CPA for 35 years with Deloitte & Touche in Milwaukee and Minneapolis, retiring in 1990 after being Managing Partner of the firm’s Milwaukee office.

During his lifetime he was active in numerous civic, business and church organizations serving on the board or as an officer of Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, American Cancer Society, United Lutheran Program for the Aging, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (Apple Valley, MN), Mt. Zion Lutheran Church (Wauwatosa, WI), Redeemer Lutheran Church (Fridley, MN) and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. He was also an Emeritus member of the Deans Advisory Board for the Business School of UW-Madison. He received the Distinguished Career award from the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, the Distinguished Accounting Alumnus Award from UW-Madison and the National St. George Medal from the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 58 years, and three children, David (Mary) Holtze of London, UK, John (Julia) Holtze of Rosemount, MN and Nancy (R. Jeff) Von Horn of Oak Island, NC. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Meghan, Will, Matt, Laura, Jack, Madison, Petra, Mia, Barrett; great-grandson, Theo; three sisters, Irene Knutson, Jean (Wayne) Wilcott and Janice (Terry) Smith, a brother-in-law, Norman (Evon) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Florence Holtze.

Memorial services will be held May 23, 2014 at 11 AM at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley, MN, with visitation starting at 10 AM. If desired, the family suggests memorials be given to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
