Audrey Joan (Overaas) Eggen

Age 75, of Burnsville, MN passed away on June 25, 2010. Audrey was born June 4, 1935 in Jackson, MN to Ludvig and Clara Overaas. Audrey attended grade school in School District #79 in Belmont Township. She was one of five girls in her class and they have remained lifelong friends.

Audrey was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson by Rev. Harold Martinson. In 1958 she graduated from the U of M with a B.A. degree. She was employed by Deaconess Hospital as Director of Diversional Therapy from 1965 to 1983. She was later employed by Bachman’s Floral.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Jasper, parents, step-mother Selma Overaas, brothers Lowell and Peter, brother-in-law Ron Pitsenbarger sister-in-laws Shirley Overaas, Ida Nordaune, and Myrtle Jacobson. She is survived by her brother Duane (Lois) Overaas, sisters Betty Lou (Rodney) Kloster, and Gwen Pitsenbarger and sister-in-law Kelly Overaas and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Audrey led a very active life and had many interests including sewing, crafts, gardening, walking, travel and books. Even after losing her eyesight she continued to enjoy many of these activities. Most important to her were her faith, family and friends. She was very grateful to all the caregivers and volunteers who enriched her life.

Audrey was born with a rare genetic condition called Ectrodactyly-Ectodermal Dysplasia. For more information visit the website at nfed.org.

Interment will be in Williston, ND at a later date.
